Ingredients for writing

Fire

It starts with a spark. An urge. A vision. A feeling. An idea that just won’t let go. Nurture it. Give it air.

Air

Day dream. Carry the vision within you. Let your thoughts out to play; your characters breathe. And when you’re ready plant them.

Earth

Bring it all down to earth in the written word. Dig deep. Secure the roots. Let it grow in its own time. Don’t forget the importance of water.

Water

Let it flow. Sometimes it will be quick and full of force. Sometimes quiet and meandering. Dry land, full river. Everything in-between.
